PROCESS TECHNOLOGY

Slant cold rolling of monometallic and bimetallic finned tubes is a most advanced state-of-art process. Many years of research conducted by Professor Antoni Pasierb from AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków and resulting implementations enabled CEMAL to develop an industrial scale process of rolling the finned monometallic as well as bimetallic aluminium and copper tubes. Since high finned tubes are applied for air cooled heat exchangers in chemical and petrochemical installations as well as conventional and nuclear power systems, they have to meet stringent operational requirements.

MOST IMPORTANT ADVANTAGES OF ROLLED FINNED TUBES

  • Maximum expansion of external surface in order to ensure high efficiency of cooling.
  • Application of base tubes in bimetallic tubes made of metals and alloys showing considerably high mechanical properties and corrosion resistance in elevated temperatures as well as high resistance to mechanical erosion.
  • High radial pressure exerted in bimetallic joint thus ensuring minimum resistance for a transfer of heat.
  • High heat conduction of material used for external finning of tubes.
  • High mechanical strength of external fins ensuring unchanged fin shapes and dimensions after high pressure water cleaning operations.
Meeting of the above requirements is closely related to proper selection of rolling process conditions as well as to selection of optimum process parameters which are provided at our manufacturing facility.
